MIAMI — Bam Adebayo posted 23 points, nine rebounds, and six steals to power the Miami Heat past the Brooklyn Nets 124-98 on Tuesday night, in the first game of a back-to-back series.
Tyler Herro contributed 22 points, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. chipped in 20 for Miami, who moved to 5-2 over their last seven contests.
Adebayo and Herro each had 15 points at halftime, with Jaquez and Andrew Wiggins tallying 13 apiece as the Heat built a 69-54 lead. Miami shot 53% from the field through the first half and pulled away in the fourth quarter, expanding the advantage to 27 points.
For Brooklyn, Noah Clowney led with 17 points, and Ziaire Williams added 16 while Nolan Traore had 14. Nets top scorer Michael Porter Jr. endured a rough night, going 3-for-17 from the floor and missing all nine of his attempts from beyond the arc, finishing with nine points.
Brooklyn extended a stretch without a win, marking their ninth consecutive defeat after winning back-to-back games about a month ago.
Wiggins, who played 11 minutes in the second half, did not score in the period, taking only two shots.
