A person has been detained in connection to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of US news anchor Savannah Guthrie, US media report. Guthrie, 84, disappeared more than a week ago from her home in Arizona. Authorities believe she was taken against her will, and her family has repeatedly appealed for her return. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information in the case. The FBI released images and footage of a person in a mask and gloves, who appeared to have tampered with a doorbell camera on the day she disappeared. The person was armed, the federal bureau say. The police have said they detained a 'person of interest' at a traffic stop south of Tucson. Earlier on Tuesday, Savannah Guthrie said her family believes their mother is still alive. 'We believe our mum is still out there,' she said in an Instagram video. 'We need your help.' The police department of Oro Valley, a suburban town in Arizona, has confirmed to the BBC it was involved in a regional Swat mission tonight. It did not confirm the details of the mission. Nancy Guthrie disappeared in the middle of the night from her home in Tucson, Arizona, and was last seen on 31 January. The Pima County Sheriff’s office released a statement: 'Earlier today, Pima County Sheriff’s Department deputies detained a subject during a traffic stop south of Tucson,' the statement says. 'The subject is currently being questioned in connection to the Nancy Guthrie investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.' This is the 10th day since Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of news anchor Savannah Guthrie, disappeared from her home. Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie was taken against her will from her home in Tuscon, Arizona, in the middle of the night. She was last seen on 31 January.
